Har lige forespurgt hos Frida, som bekræfter, at de ikke mere laver performance for 2,5 n/a, men det har de gjort:
Oscar Kraan, Holland - 13th July 2003
2.5 n/a Diesel cylinder head gasflowed
(Oscar originally bought a complete all ancillary engine elsewhere in the UK)
A good engine is the heart of every terrain vehicle, and for a Land Rover you will naturally go to the country of birth.
The compression in the block is too low and after deliberating we decided to have the cylinder head reworked. On advice of friends we have this done by Turner Engineering in combination with a visit to Old Sodbury. Turner is the specialist in gasflowing the inlet and exhaust ports for extra torque. Complete rework of cylinder head, including gasflowing.
Because we really don't trust anything anymore and the cylinder head is removed anyway we decide to tackle the rest of the engine at the same time. New piston rings, honing the cylinder bores and check the crankshaft and bearings. After re assembling everything the engine sounds totally different, much quieter, no more rattling and on the test drive a very noticeable improvement in performance.
It appears we finally bought real air in the UK!
Now it remains for the gear box to be rebuilt and we can start enjoying our very special self built Land Rover 109 S2a from 1969!
...
